SFM-Bikes · ERP consolidation and system migration
MY ROLEProject lead, solution architect, developer and trainer
As project lead, solution architect, developer and trainer, I led the consolidation of two ERP systems and a separate warehouse management system into an integrated JTL-Wawi solution for SFM-Bikes.
SFM-Bikes had two ERP systems and separate warehouse management. Limitations of the accumulated system landscape and high licence costs prompted the consolidation. I documented business processes and system dependencies, advised on the target architecture and selected JTL-Wawi as the foundation together with the client.
I planned and implemented the migration and the connection of ERP, warehouse operations, shipping, stocktaking, warranty handling, payments and accounting to the webshop and dealer portal. APIs from service providers and wholesalers were integrated. Custom APIs provided functionality for additional service providers. Barcode and DATEV integration and migration of legacy VBA/VB6 components were also included. Zendesk and 3CX complemented sales and support.
Introduction included backups, code and operational documentation, teaching materials and instructional videos for each area, and employee training. I supported the new platform's launch, the shutdown and archiving of legacy systems and onboarding to the new modules.
Result: Consolidated two ERP systems and separate warehouse management on an integrated platform and supported the transition with interfaces, documentation and training.
