Quality management software with 3D functionality

As project lead, software architect, developer and trainer, I extended existing quality assurance software with cross-platform 3D analysis and geometry-based defect documentation.
The existing quality assurance software needed to display and document defect data directly on the inspected 3D component. The objective was to make the relationships between geometry, defects and quality differences understandable in three dimensions.
I developed a reusable 3D view as the foundation for additional features. Visual comparison analysis, geometry-based defect documentation and heatmaps of defect concentrations were built on it. CAD import enabled geometry to be brought into the application.
The components were integrated into the existing application and data architecture and designed for Android, iOS, web, Windows, macOS and Linux. I combined hands-on development and quality assurance with training the internal development team to use and extend the new components.
Result: Integrated 3D comparison, defect documentation, heatmaps and CAD import into the existing quality assurance software.
