Quality assurance software for non-destructive testing
MY ROLEProject lead, software architect, developer, UI designer and trainer
As project lead, software architect, developer, UI designer and trainer, I led development of new quality assurance software for non-destructive testing and was responsible for the application, server and data storage.
A legacy application for non-destructive radiographic testing needed to be replaced with a new cross-platform solution. The tool had to capture and manage product-related inspection data and make it available for further evaluation.
I designed the application, server and MongoDB data architecture and implemented the components myself. The Unity interface combined data views and filters with a user-role interface. A custom UI manager with themes, panels and reusable prefabs structured the presentation.
Existing data was migrated into the new application and processed. Inspection-related images, documents, notes, reports and templates were integrated into the workflow. The solution was designed for Windows, macOS, iOS and web. Project coordination, quality assurance and training accompanied development and introduction.
Result: Replaced the legacy application with a new cross-platform solution featuring a custom data, role and UI architecture.
